On September 15, Ucraft, along with yerevantropics, organized a one of a kind design event: Jump Design Conference. It brought together designers, specialists from the IT sector and intellectuals for a discussion on future talks.
The event featured a series of speeches about design, technology, and lifestyle. Industry leaders from Farfetch, PicsArt, Google, Studio Dumbar, Huge, Device, Ucraft and others shared their vision on the future of design. The conference took place at AGBU headquarters in Yerevan.

The day started with nice warmup music and buffet. The music was provided by the art director of Ucraft Mher and QA specialist Tommy, who DJ out during the weekends. They entertained the public with their funk and groovy vibes.
The speeches were kicked off by visual designers Christopher Noort and Stan Haanappel representing a leading design company Studio Dumbar. Using customized digital tools, they created pioneering brand identities adapting to the environment of the users, any time, any place. They spoke about prominent projects, such as Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Request and, importantly, DEMO festival.
Pol Solà, the director, designer, animator, and co-founder of the creative studios Device, Amigo Total and All in Pixel, talked about finding style. It was about the concept of creative evolution in the scope of the future of design and art along with the motion. Pol mentioned the use of light, application of shadows, transparencies and reflections in a dynamic and contemporary way and demonstrated his animations.
Up next was Astghik Margaryan, the creative team lead at PicsArt, introduced the latest trends in social media, pointing out the importance of visual content. She talked about PicsArt app and its unique features.
The next speaker was Alexander Artsvuni, the principal designer at Farfetch. He talked about the workflow of their design team which was not limited to just the creation of layouts and design, but also included making profound research and implementation of the new trends. He facilitated an experimental design course that focused on mixing traditional creative design practices with technology, exploring radical design methods like designing with code.
The subject of the eCommerce store was the essence of Gev Balyan’s speech. Gev is the CEO and founder of Ucraft. He talked about creating and maintaining an online store with this website builder that offers special features for selling, adding products and categories, using marketing tools. Gev also mentioned that with Ucraft, Armenian users can sell and get paid via chief payment methods, including Ameria, ACBA, Evoca, Ineco banks and Idram system. This means that Armenian businesses can process their payments through the most trusted local payment systems.
Many attendees were excited about Carla Echevarria’s speech. Carla is the design lead of Google Assistant. She shared her insights on creating the design for their artificial intelligence product which went beyond UI and UX and covered all the demographics and dialect differences. She inspired to build ethical AI platforms that provide real value to people.
And the last speech of the event was presented by Mitya Osadchuk, the creative director at Mail.ru Group. He introduced a lot of useful information about the generative design, innovative tools, and websites for creating distinguished design and animations. He also talked about Mail.ru design team challenges and achievements. Pretty much everything the conference was meant to inform its attendees.
The participants enjoyed the day along with great music and buffet and had the chance to communicate with each other and discuss everything about design and beyond. Insights from emerging designers and an array of continuing education options rounded up the day.
Ucraft intends to organize such events annually for you not to miss them. Designer or not, you can learn a lot about IT innovations and apply these ideas in your work.
